With this update comes some of the finishing touches to GRID BLASTER's layer controls and interaction options. In the previous updates, the only way to interact with the layers was to set one of the buttons to either on or off which would then fire when it was passed over. With Freestyle playback the user can queue a tone just by tapping it or holding it out which really diversifies what can be played with GRID BLASTER.

Another big leap in expanding the capability of the system was adding the option to change what scalar mode the layer is using to generate these notes. Within each layer's menu there is now a row that changes what note is treated as Do in the major scale hard coded into the board class. This gives a lot more options for the user to pick from since now they can use a minor scale by setting Do to the sixth index since all keys have a relative minor.

Finally, the Master Volume Control menu has been added to the top row of options. In this menu there are eight rows for each of the 8 layers and a mute button for each as well. This really helps with on the fly leveling since to get to each of the layer's individual menus takes about two to three steps while it only takes one to get to the master control. I can see this helping a lot with transitions from one set of layers to the next so that the recording isn't just one long repeating beat.

At this point I've laid done a solid foundation for manipulating the system and giving the user options in its design. For the next step to completing this project, I will be focusing more on the Sound design and making the whole system a bit more robust for a user to run on their own machine.
